Was your laptop connected to the internet? How did you try to access the Q&A site - through Moodle, through Discord, through typing the address (lovelace.augustana.edu) directly into the address bar, other?
Have you logged in to your student account on Lovelace on your computer? That could also be part of the problem.
I was having the same problem, it might be due to your browser. Safari and firefox don't work well with the Q&A site for some reason. Opening it with chrome worked for me. Maybe you should try that.
Once I signed in on safari the second time it has been working well since.
