Does anyone remember how to edit the background images for raytracing using gimp program?

I was just trying to make the image be seamless but I can't seem to remember the correct steps.

Filters -> Map -> Make Seamless
Then Export
(working nice on simple backgrounds like the sky,..)

File -> Layer -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel

Select the background you want to delete by pressing Delete, and Export the img.
