That gives a SPROUT example after importing an image.

You can do the sprout and hatch commands in the 3D NetLogo like 2D one. But I am not sure about making an image move.

That's the point when I try to import an image and do the sprout or hatch it doesn't work.

You may want to try setting the turtle shape as the imported image, ask the turtle(breed) to specifically apply the hatch and sprout command.
