yes you can just do the usual command for it.

raytracing:set-background-image "something.jpg"

Make sure however that the image you want to use is saved in the same folder as your .nlogo or .nlogo3d file!

I think he demonstrated it in the class using the cat picture! The codes might be in the S drive.

Yes, you can also use GIMP to edit the photo, make the photo have a smooth edge in 3d as the professor demonstrates in class.
