Answered: How can you tell what the multiplicity of a class is for a UML diagram?

Generally the line between the classes will be labelled (like when we have a star or numbers) to show which class has one or many instances of another class.

Answered: When is a "has-a" relationship better to use than an "is-a" relationship?

"is-a" is a very specific link between 2 classes. It's when there is a clear hierarchical relation between the 2: one is a "subtype" of the other. Like how a Square is a Rectangle. It is really focused on code extension and inheriting both fields and behavior. "Has-a" is way more flexible and rather than making you inherit code or specific implementation it just gives a general idea of what behavior a class is supposed to be able to do but is not specific as to how that is done.

Answered: WPM Clarification

The WPM aspect can definitely be a complex concept to grasp especially since it seems that there is a lot of information online about this. What was suggested for us to keep it simple but understandable is to allow more space between entire character to be able to recognize when a character is done and not stretch out the time too much between the individual dit and dahs to the point where the user would be confused whether or not the silence is a space between character.

Answered: When would you choose to use an abstract class instead of an interface

An abstract class is preferred over an interface when you need a class that allows the sharing of common code functionality, with an inheritance concept in between classes like the is-a relationship, whereas interfaces implement the common functionality between closely related classes. Abstract classes are useful when you want to update a common behavior in the base abstract class it updates the inheriting classes as well.

Answered: How do I decide in the Strategy Pattern if a method should be abstract or encapsulated in an interface for flexibility?

I believe while using the strategy pattern while implementing both abstract classes and interfaces should be fine, depending on the amount of flexibility the method requires as in strategic patterns can change algorithms during runtime.

For the presentation, you can start with the slide show explain the stuff on the slides then move on to the main live demo on the projector screen showing all the features in your project along with your group members. I think a brief presentation containing all the aspects in Memo 3B, would give sufficient time for the demo and for questions from the audience!

A narrower filter should reduce the amount of static, as well as affect what signals are received.

(In the real world, it's more complicated than just reducing the volume of the static, but that's a reasonable approximation to make for your apps.)

Answered: What is the difference between git checkout/switch [branch] and git checkout [commit-hash]?

git checkout [branch] or git switch [branch] moves to a specific branch, making it the active branch for new commits.
git checkout [commit-hash] checks out a specific commit in a detached HEAD state, allowing you to view or work on that commit without affecting branches.
Use switch for branches as it's more explicit and avoids detached HEAD confusion.

Encapsulation is the practice of bundling data and methods within a class and restricting direct access to some of its components. For example, in your Movie Tracker project, fields like title and genre in the Movie class are private, and public getters and setters control access.

Polymorphism is an object-oriented programming concept where a single interface can represent different underlying forms (e.g., methods behaving differently based on the object they belong to). In your HighLowGUI game, the Card class could demonstrate polymorphism if a getValue() method behaves differently for various card types.

For the Morse code training, users could practice it by typing alphabets or full words by giving them the option to do so similarly, while learning the audio aspect, the user could hear the CW code identify and write the correct letter or word. It would be nice to implement levels that users could advance to as they move further. Adding features like replay can be helpful so if they get it wrong; they can try again by listening to the sound again. Also, having a references button on the same page would be very convenient as they could revise while practicing.

Answered: Presentation

We're thinking about doing something very simple as most of our presentation will be from our app so that we can demonstrate as many features as possible. But we will at least talk about the architecture of the code, include an UML diagram and discuss what we learned through this class and this project.

The ChatterBox example gives a good way of going about the server part. Going through it should give enough for what is required for the project without involving code that is too complex.

FXML Resizing

Hi guys,

We are adjusting our fxml pages in Scene Builder so that the UI is adjustable with changing window sizes (making windows full-screen). I have added all of the elements we were using into v-boxes and h-boxes in a border pane, which is displaying correctly in scene builder. However, whenever I launch our program I get a "no controller specified" error although I have not touched any code in Itellij or renamed pieces of the UI, I have only shifted elements in Scene Builder. Does anyone have some advice? Thank you

How did you guys implement this feature? what I mean is did you make a separate part from the live ham radio and if so how does the user personalize the scenario and input the text for bots? Does the text the user inputs is just sent by bot at set interval or do you use listeners for specific words? if so how do you do that not knowing what type of scenario story the user wants to go with?

I feel like character speed doesn't really make sense since, according to Dr. Vincent, the length of the dits and the dahs are supposed to stay always the same.
