What is a POJO

+3 votes
What is a POJO and what is it's use case? I found a reference to it in some JUnit tutorials. Apparently it means a Plain old Java Object, is it just an object? Or is this like... legacy objects?

It seems like POJOs are objects that don't use other special interfaces or frameworks. So for instance if we write a Player class for our game I believe that is classified as a Plain Old Java Object since it is not using any interfaces or frameworks to be functional.
