What are the primitive types when programming in "Java"?

Dylan -- no need to generate *extra* questions for the CSC 211 students.  Allow them to ask their own questions!  You are welcome to help answer their questions, as long as you don't confuse them by using more advanced Java topics than they have learned so far...

byte, short, int, long, char, float, double, boolean

Please note that Strings are actually an object and not a primitive type.
