Which database library (if any) are people using for their software?

My group is having trouble deciding whether or not we should import a library (such as SQLite) to help store and access data for this project.

Last year for a pottery order tracking system, a couple teams used SQLite https://www.tutorialspoint.com/sqlite/sqlite_java.htm , one team used a Java connection to Microsoft Access, and one used HSQLD.  http://hsqldb.org/

(Last year more students had experience with database, since the Database course had been offered somewhat more recently.)

Team Flicker is currently CSV, but I am really looking into using SQL. I am liking the capabilities that it has to offer and my group is using a table and I am thinking that an SQL database will allow us to update the table. However, I know the coding is much more advance for SQL and will require extra research and understanding in order to use it properly.
